Igggebana is the synthesis of high-quality print production, sophisticated gggraphic design and the Japanese art of flower arrangement, called ikebana. The term stands for "bringing flowers to life", with the tradition dating back to the Heian period, when flower offerings were made at altars. Under the influence of Buddhist tea masters, Ikebana reached a peak in the 16th century and has evolved over the centuries so that today there are numerous schools. The arrangements focus more on the interplay of stems and leaves than on the flowers themselves. It is an art of balance, composition and harmony that symbolises the connection between heaven, man and earth in a sensual way.
