Jetztmusikfestival
The Jetztmusikfestival connects avant-garde electronic music with art, design and the cultural landscape of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. "Jetzt" means at the leading edge, looking ahead to the horizon of the time's creative activities. The 2024 design concept visually represents this “cutting edge” with a vertically mirrored design. Powerful, color-intensive compositions extend from the midst of the formats, appearing maximalist, hyperreal and other-worldly.
The design blurs the boundaries between artists, art, body, environment, aesthetics and soundscape in order to visually reflect the festival's ambitious intentions and mesmerize the observer, just as the festival's artists do with their powerful sounds.
The highly complex imagery contrasts with the sleek typography, which in turn also plays with axial mirroring. The font is set all caps and without line spacing to reflect the compressed aesthetics.
In the animation, the images come to life through a kind of kaleidoscope effect, which also picks up on the stereo spectrum of the soundstage and achieves a very unique, hypnotic look.
